Discover the Brim!

A winter destination for the whole family

Spread over more than 70 skiable acres, Brimacombe is one of Southern Ontario’s largest ski areas. Located in Orono, less than an hour east of Toronto, it is conveniently accessible off Highways 115 and 407 for an easy trip out to the slopes.

Celebrating 90 years of tradition on the slopes!

Brimacombe first opened in the 1936/37 season as the Oshawa Ski Club; a not-for-profit ski club rooted in the enjoyment of the slopes. The land on which the current facilities and trails are located was once owned by the Brimacombe family and used by the Oshawa Ski Club to hold races. In 2009, the club formally adopted the name Brimacombe, an homage to Brimacombe’s Hill.

A not-for-profit since the beginning, the organization started as a club for the enjoyment of skiing and snowboarding. Today, Brimacombe is led by a volunteer board of directors, with community, safety, inclusivity and fun at its core.

What’s on offer?

When the snow flies, Brimacombe is ready to welcome its visitors and members for a great day on the slopes. The hill boasts a 300 vertical drop, 21 runs, two terrain parks, four quad chairlifts, one T-bar and a Magic Carpet. Among its two chalets, the East Chalet is the main hub, housing the main office, rentals, lesson programs, a restaurant and Slopeside Skis & Boards retail store. Everything you need for a day on the slopes and trails can be found here! If you prefer a quieter setting, the West Chalet offers a cozy environment where visitors can get right out on the slopes, stopping in for a bite to eat as well.

Brimacombe welcomes those seasoned on the slopes just as those new to the sport! The Snow School offers lessons for all ages and abilities, including instruction on adaptive skiing.

Brimacombe draws in members and visitors from across the region, including Toronto, communities around Durham, Peterborough, Cobourg, and even as far east at Trenton.

What sets Brimacombe apart?

Brimacombe is rooted in community. As a multi-generational destination focused on family and the love of the outdoors, its visitors and members remain at the core of the organization. Year over year, friends and family gather to enjoy the return of the Great Canadian Winter the way they know best; on the slopes. A gathering place that’s all about authentic winter fun!
